Some tips on things you can do yourself

Simple economical things that you can do to start improving your search engine. Not necessarily the ranking but search engine visibility before searching for you. One of the most important and easiest things to do is make sure that you’re set up with the Google my business page. And that’s basically Google. Setting up yourself with them on Google my business. And that is your page with them, your business page with them on the Internet. That’s what you see when you do a search and you get the little square with some map listings. And it shows the address, the little map with the location, hours and things like that. That’s always displayed up at the top and you’re gonna get three or four people chosen there.

So, you want to work on getting in there and that’s basically free. I mean there’s a paid version of it and there’s a free version of it. And generally, it looks for the different factors one of the things is businesses in the area. Very simple to do you, go to their page, fill out all the information there’s a process for confirming that you’re an actual business and all that. You want to have everything as complete as possible including the name that you put there.

The name needs to be exactly like it is everywhere else that you have it. You don’t want to have different names you know like as an example you know PC repair shop and then computer repair shop. And then those kinds of things. Look to decide on how you’re gonna present your name, typically should just be your corporate name.

But if you’re doing a BBA or you’re doing something like that just take a look at that the spelling everything should be exactly the same. You know Google is looking for basically confirmation across the internet that everything matches phone numbers, address. As an example, you’re listing your address, for example over here is you know Bird Road is Southwest 40th Street. So, if you’re on one of those streets that has a name and a number you want to decide on one over the other just use that all the time. As an example, Southwest 40th Street, if you decide on that don’t use Bird road on another site or on your site. Because then that’s a mix of signals. And you know Google looks at that as a little bit confusing. And probably you know affect you a little bit. So that’s the other thing.

Then once you have that up and running, the next step there is start getting reviews. Nowadays reviews are more important than ever. That’s basically your word of mouth when everybody talks about word of mouth advertising is the best advertising. You know I mean I don’t consider that advertising frankly but that’s not the subject of this a post. So, start getting reviews, ask for reviews. Let us tell your customers. Let us know how we did on Google. If you can send them a link. There are many ways and that’ll be another most of strategies on how to get reviews. But that is gonna play a big part on the basically the weight you know the algorithm, the weight that when people are searching.

Google is looking at all these Google my business pages. Are they complete? Do they have pictures the hours there? Do they answer all the questions about the hours of operation? How many reviews do they have? Or people reviewing them. Are their comments? And now even on that page, you can actually post on that page.

Another factor that they’re adding in there is this an active page? Or they posting and all that kind of stuff. So, this very inexpensive mean. Free if you do it yourself, very simple to do but like everything it takes a little bit of time. It takes a little bit of effort but it’s I mean it’s a huge return. It’s one of the simple easiest least affordable things you could do to improve your search engine visibility.
